ST. LOUIS – The Taylor Geospatial Institute invites the geospatial community to attend the consortium’s inaugural Town Hall Meeting on Wednesday, May 22, 2024. The event will be held at the Donald Danforth Plant Science Center, one of the eight academic and research institutes that are working with TGI to spark a revolution in geospatial technology and science.
This event gives the TGI community an opportunity to come together and learn about how the consortium is changing the landscape of geospatial through research across domains like climate impact, digital agriculture, national security, public health, urban planning, and others, all powered by technologies such as remote sensing, digital twins, AR/VR, AI/ML, sensor integration, and more.
“I am excited to share our plans for 2025 with our consortium and unveil our initiatives around investing in people and innovation, launching collaborative challenges across academia and industry, and the latest and greatest in GeoAI,” said Nadine Alameh, Ph.D., executive director of the Taylor Geospatial Institute. “The key to TGI’s success lies in its community. We are looking forward to bringing the St. Louis geospatial ecosystem together and celebrating the momentum we’re gaining as we work to catalyze collaboration across the consortium, connect partners, and align our capabilities to accelerate the impact of geospatial on the world.”
Attendees will be welcomed by leaders of the Donald Danforth Plant Science Center, the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency, and TGI leadership. Participants will also get updates from the TGI executive director about upcoming strategic initiatives and access to key stakeholders in geospatial as we celebrate collaboration with TGI’s community. There will also be a tour of the Donald Danforth Plant Science Center available for all attendees.
This half-day event will feature a panel discussion with representative leaders from across TGI institutions, TGI consortium news, TGI GeoAI Working Group updates, interactive Q&A sessions, and more. Come and feel the fellowship that comes with being a part of TGI. A reception and research poster session will conclude the event.
