TGI invites you to apply to join this in-person workshop to shape the upcoming Geospatial Innovation for Food Security Challenge. Selected applicants will collaborate with researchers and professionals from diverse organizations and backgrounds to co-design the the Challenge.

Workshop Information
Participants will explore how current and emergent innovations in geospatial technologies and methods can be leveraged to promote food security, collaborating to identify sets of salient problems, assess their fit with technologies with potential to address them, and evaluate the potential impact of making progress on each problem.

Location
All three in-person workshops will be held at T-Rex in St. Louis, Missouri, a non-profit innovation and entrepreneur development center dedicated to strengthening the economic vitality of St. Louis. The collaborative working sections of each workshop will be in-person only. Formal presentations and panel discussions during the workshops will be recorded and shared.

Participants joined the TGI team for a kickoff workshop in which participants formed teams and collaborated to identify broad sets of potentially interesting problems where current innovations in geospatial technologies and methods could be leveraged to improve future food security.

Tomás Peña is co-founder and General Partner of The Yield Lab LATAM, a leading agtech VC fund with offices in Buenos Aires, São Paulo, Mexico City, Rancagua (Chile), and Miami. Launched in 2018 as an accelerator fund, The Yield Lab LATAM operates a farmer-centric network with a diversified team of 12 people spread across the region. To date, the fund has made over 25 investments in seven Latam countries. Tomás brings 20 years of experience in banking, with a focus on private banking and innovation, and was also co-founder of S4, a Yield Lab North America portfolio company back in 2011.
